Willie Dixon may have been the biggest, baddest, slammingest Blues bass player, but what most don't realize is that he was one of the great songwriters and producers of the Chicago Blues. He wrote such classics as "Hoochie Coochie Man", "I Just Want to Make Love to You", and "Wang Dang Doodle", to name a few. Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Little Walter all performed his songs. Willie also collaborated with Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley making him not only a great Blues influence, but also, an early contributor to the development of Rock and Roll. |
