TIM CREWS

4/3/61 - 3/23/93

Major league baseball relief pitcher.  Crews pitched with the Los Angeles Dodgers for six years before signing with the Cleveland Indians.  He never pitched a regular season game for Cleveland.  Tim Crews was killed in a boating accident in Florida during spring training.  He, teammates Steve Olin and Bobby Ojeda had gone fishing during an off day and were heading back to shore when they struck an unlit dock.  Olin was killed instantly. Crews hung on for a couple of days before dying from massive head injuries.  Ojeda was the only one who survived the accident.
