MICHAEL HUTCHENCE
January 22, 1960 to November 22, 1997
Certainly one of
the most underrated front men in the history of Rock and
Roll. Michael Hutchence had the same erotic,
charismatic stage presence as Jim Morrison. On the
verge of INXS's twentieth anniversary tour, Hutchence hung
himself in his hotel room after ingesting an assortment of
drugs and alcohol. He had apparently been in a
depressed state over a custody battle between his girlfriend
Paula Yates and his former producer Bob Geldorf.
Geldorf had won custody of the couples' children from a
previous relationship. Michael Hutchence was cremated
and his ashes divided into thirds. One portion of the
ashes is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood
Hills, California. |
