 HANK GREENBERG

"HAMMERIN' HANK"

Major league baseball player for the Detroit Tigers and later for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Hit 58 home runs in one season falling just short of Babe Ruth's 60 home run record at that time.  Greenberg won two Most Valuable Player Awards and was on two Word Series Championship teams.  He was eventually voted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1956.
