"TALK BACK TREMBLING LIPS" From 1949 to 1955 Ernie Ashworth was mainly a songwriter writing hits for such artists as Johnny Horton. He eventually made it big with his signature song and was a long-standing member of the Grand Ole Opry. Ernie also owned a number of radio stations and as his daughter told us he said, "Hey, if you own the station then they have to play your songs."
