BOB CRANE

1928 - 1978

COD:  Bludgeoned to death in his sleep

BURIAL:  Westwood Memorial Park, Los Angeles, CA

Bob Crane was a man who truly led a double life.  On the surface he was the quintessential family man - the doting husband and father.  However, underneath, Crane had delved into a sexually perverse lifestyle.  He and a friend, John Carpenter, spent time seducing women (in no small part due to Crane's looks and fame) and then videotaping themselves having sex with the women.  Eventually, Crane decided to give up the lifestyle and was soon after beaten to death.  John Carpenter was arrested and tried, but acquitted of the crime.

Sigrid Valdis was Bob Crane's second wife.  Crane had met Valdis on the set of Hogan's Heroes.  She starred as one of Colonel Clink's secretaries.  Valdis had Crane exhumed from his original grave so that she could be buried next to him at Westwood.
